Macron letter to citizens of Europe slams Brexit as ‘irresponsible lie’

French President Emmanuel Macron has savaged Brexit and its promoters in an open letter to ‘Citizens of Europe’.

He says Brexit is Europe’s worst crisis since World War II – and describes it as an irresponsible lie’ peddled by anger mongers, backed by fake news.

“We have to stand firm, proud and lucid, in the face of this manipulation,” says the French President, who has faced months of protests by the Gilets Jaune ‘yellow vest’ protesters.
