Former Miss Hitler contestant jailed for three years

Alice Cutter was found guilty of membership of the banned neonazi terrorist group National Action

Alice Cutter arrives at Birmingham Crown Court in December 2019

A FORMER Miss Hitler beauty pageant contestant was jailed for three years today after being found guilty of membership of the banned neonazi terrorist group National Action (NA).

Alice Cutter was convicted after a trial in March alongside three fellow group “diehards” – her Nazi-admiring ex Mark Jones, Garry Jack and Connor Scothern.

Sentencing the four at Birmingham Crown Court today, Judge Paul Farrer QC told them that, after NA was outlawed by the government in 2016, “you weren’t prepared to dissociate yourselves from the vile ideology of this group and therefore defied the ban and continued as members.”

Frustration over a lack of activism in her native Yorkshire led Cutter to join the NA’s Midlands subgroup, whose membership was “determined to defy the ban,” prosecuting barrister Barnaby Jameson QC said.

Jurors were also shown messages in which Cutter joked about gassing synagogues, using a Jew’s head as a football and remarking “Rot in hell, bitch,” after discussing former Labour MP Jo Cox’s murder.

Cutter also made an attempt to recruit a 15-year-old girl, albeit unsuccessfully, the judge heard.

Mr Jameson said it was “part of a pattern” by Cutter and Jones, both of Sowerby Bridge, near Halifax, West Yorkshire, of “targeting individuals for recruitment at a time when National Action was a banned organisation.”

Jones was handed a five-and-a-half-year prison sentence, Jack, of Heathland Avenue, Birmingham, to four-and-a-half years imprisonment, and Scothern, of Bagnall Avenue, Nottingham, to 18 months’ detention today.

Speaking after sentencing, the Crown Prosecution Service’s head of special crime and counter terrorism division Jenny Hopkins said: “Their fanatical racism meant they were not prepared to break the bonds that united them in hatred.”
