Rape Protests Overwhelm Liberia, As Six Counties Quarry President Weah

Women and men around Liberia continue their protests nationwide with six of the fifteen counties in full readiness to angrily present their petition to the Liberian leader, President George Manneh Weah who is currently bearing the title as Feminist in Chief to tell him the effect rape has on Liberia’s women and girls.

The protesters’ concern is a result of the increased wave of rape around the country with over 900 cases been reported from June of the year to present within six counties including Montserrado, Bong, Nimba, Grand Bassa, Grand Kru, and Maryland Counties feeling the pinch of this uncivilized acts.

Protesters with anti-placards are denouncing the high wave of rape in the country, and have vowed to remain in the streets until the Liberian Chief Executive, President Weah respond to the demands, and see reasons as to how this situation can be handled in bringing to those perpetrators to justice.

According to report from around the country, five to ten children are raped daily, while authorities continue to remain mute on such heinous acts.
