Catholic women gathered to honor Madam Whea

Maryland County newly appointed Gender Coordinator, Mrs. Natharline Whea was on National Flag Day, August 24, 2020 honored during a Thanks Giving and welcome ceremony at the Catholic Parish Hall in Pleebo, Maryland County.

The Program which was colorful was attended by religious leaders, representatives from the civil society organizations, political parties, local government officials including women and children groups, and other well-wishers.

During this well organized program, a special prayer was offered for the new gender coordinator by Rev. Father Ernest Winser, who expressed thanks to God for Mrs. Whea, and urged her to do her best by putting the women of Maryland County together peacefully.

Rev. Father Winger during the prayer services asked for God’s richly blessings upon Mrs. Whea, and protect her in her endeavor as the county new Gender Coordinator, stressing, “I therefore pray that God almighty should be your protector, your comforter, and direct you in all your activities”, he stressed.

Responding, Mrs. Whea called on the women of Maryland County to forget the past and join hands together for a positive change in the county, noting, “Backward never and forward forever. Let God be the glory for my life, and the lives of all the women in Maryland County yea Liberia . My people and good women of Maryland County one of the things that I will totally be against in my Administration is rape, it will never and should not be compromised in our County and Country “, she warned.

Gracing the occasion was the National President of the Association of Women In Cross Border Trade in Liberia Mrs. Frances Dailed who said her Organization will work with the Newly appointed Gender Coordinator in order to robustly improve the livelihood and activities of women in the county.

Also speaking on behalf of  all the women in the county, Mrs. Phelicia Towalid extended thanks and appreciation to all those who graced the occasion.
