“I will not take your challenge lightly” – Says Rep elect Kiazolu

District seventeen Representative-elect Hanson Kiazolu says his election among twenty nine other candidates at the October 10 polls is a challenge from the people of the district noting that he will not take it lightly.

Rep. Kiazolu said the opportunity afforded him to serve is not only a victory, but a challenge upon which he will champion the cause of those entrusted him with stat power.

In an excited mood, the Unity Party official commended the people of district seventeen for the confidence repose in him promising to work with them to ensure the district witness the kind of developmental transformation so much anticipated by all.

The Monsterrado district seventeen lawmakers was speaking Thursday when he was certificated by the National Election Commission at its headquarters in Sinkor, Representative Kiazolu

Amidst jubilation from his supporters, he told reporters that there is pending gathering to officially appreciate the people of district seventeen including defeated candidates after the inauguration.

The former Comptroller General of Liberia added that his Legislative Platform will be delivered at the impending appreciation gathering.

Commenting on the transition Liberia is about to witness after more than 70 years, Representative Kiazolu said he was not only excited for such national political achievement, but was also delighted to be alive and form part of the occasion.

“I am so much happy that history has recorded me during such a wonderful and democratic process, I am overwhelmed he intoned with beams of smile”.

Kiazolu challenged Liberians to embraced and owned the transition because it has been achieved through the collectively efforts and contributions all.

“I am of the conviction that if we take ownership of this transitional achievement and nurture it, we can grow our democracy from where it is making it second to none in the West African Sub region and Africa, the lawmaker elect challenged Liberians”.

When quizzed on working with his political opponents during the just ended elections, Kiazolu said he will follow the path of President elect George Weah’s peaceful approach to issues of the past as well as individuals concerned.

“The elections are all over and some statements against our opponents were ridiculous, but those were all campaign talks and moving Liberia from one stage to another must claim the attention of all politicians and the ordinary citizens.

Kiazolu re-emphasized that once it is  for the development of district seventeen, his office is will and open to work with others to ensure the district moves forward in its development drive.

The district seventeen Representative elect noted as evident by quest to see the district move forward, he has commended the rehabilitation of several roads in the district.

According to Representative Kiazolu, through the district office and funds, is expected to improve the road in three phases beginning with the lateral pavement ongoing he intends to improve the road in three phases beginning with the lateral pavement ongoing followed crush rock dust and compressed after four months and lastly total pavement after a year and half.

Representative elect Kiazolu then spoke of plans to carry on rehabilitation work on other major roads in the district including the Corner, Virginia road, Virginia to Clay Ashland and the VOA road among others.

The lawmaker placed more emphasis on the VOA road giving the population density, an   area where he also collected significant votes from during the 2107 presidential and Legislative elections.

Kiazolu upon his victory assured his constituents that the rehabilitation of roads, provision of pipe borne water and electricity will top his Legislative agenda.
