ULAA Council Of Eminent Persons Elects New Officers
The Union of Liberian Association In The Americas (ULAA) of Eminent Persons during its regular meeting chaired by its first female National President, and former Chairperson of UCEP, Inc., Eminent Mydea Reeves-Karpeh. has elected new officers to steer the affairs of the Council for two years.
According to a dispatch from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the United States said those elected include; former National Board Chairman of ULAA Eminent David K. as Chairman, former National President of ULAA Eminent Gaye D. Sieh, Jr., as Co-Chairman, and former National Board Chairman, Eminent Dr. George Toto as Secretary of the council.
The dispatch said the election of these officers end the Chairmanship of Eminent Dr. Jesse M. Cooper who served as Chairman of the Council, the elected officials were sworn into office by the former President of ULAA and former Chairman of the Council Eminent Arthur M. Watson.
In remarks, the outgoing Chairman, Dr. Cooper expressed his commitment to the Council and urged it to work within the confine and framework of the constitution of the council.
The incoming Chairman, Mr. Flomo, thanked members of the Council for the support, and especially Eminent Mydea Reeves-Karpeh for her efforts to unify the council and conduct the election.
The ULAA Council of Eminent Persons was established in 2008, with its membership comprised of former ULAA National President, former National Chairman of the Board of Directors and other distinguished Liberians who have the Liberian community over the years.
Its primary goals are to utilize the collective wisdom, leadership experience and intellectual powers of former leaders and elders of ULAA.
