A soldier from Brooklyn has died from an unknown illness while deployed overseas.

A spokesman for the Defense Department says Army Sergeant Maitland Deweever Wilson had been serving in Bahrain since March of last year as a cargo commissioned officer.

It’s not clear when the 38-year-old became ill, but he was transported to a hospital in Germany where he died Wednesday.

The Pentagon says the incident is under investigation.

Wilson lived on Macdonough Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
