PLEEBO – Local County Authority in collaboration with the Maryland Oil Palm Plantation and NAGRIFOR has embarked on the rehabilitation of what is described as six (6) kilometers of community roads in the county’s commercial capital City, pleebo.
According to our Correspondent, the rehabilitation exercise which is been carried out by the Maryland Oil Palm Plantation and NAGRIFOR on Thursday, February 18 has begun from the St. Francis Sports Pitch in Zone 8 to Pleebo Center Street opposite the St. Stephen Episcopal Church in Zone 6.
The initiative is at the same time extended from the Central Parking to the Trehn Waterside on Grand Kru road, the outskirt of the city in Zone #4, including the public rest stop recently constructed on Harper Road by the National Maryland County Association of Liberia, a conglomeration of U. S. based Marylanders.
According to Pleebo City Mayor Wellington Kyne, the decision followed a number of engagements with managements of both companies by the local authority and speaker Bhofal Chambers to give Pleebo a facelift ahead of President George Manneh Weah’s visit in the county, as part of his current nationwide tour.
Mayor Kyne wants cyclists and pedestrians adhere to rules instituted by the safety departments of both companies to avoid road accidents during the ongoing fairground pavement.
He added that Pleebo Youth and the Decoration Committee headed by Pastor Jacob Dehnue have commenced designing of roadsides (sidewalls) of the principal streets and other public facilities in the city.
Describing president Weah as the most ideal leader of development who is willing to push the country to the highest high, the Pleebo City Mayor encouraged citizens and residents to turnout in their numbers to give the Liberian leader a befitting reception.
