Jury deciding fate of man accused of stabbing two kids in Brooklyn elevator

Deliberations begin Monday in the trial of a Brooklyn man accused of stabbing two children, one of them fatally in 2014.

Prosecutors say Daniel St. Hubert followed Mikayla Capers and Prince Joshua Avitto into an elevator at the Boulevard Houses in East New York and stabbed them multiple times.

Avitto was six years old.

He died from his injuries.

Capers who was seven at the time was severely injured but survived.

The now 11-year-old testified against St. Hubert last month.

He is charged with murder, attempted murder, and assault.

If convicted, he could spend 50 years to life behind bars.
