Guinea Bissau President Visits Liberia, As Country Celebrates 175 Independence Day, July 26
The President of Guinea Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embalo has arrived in the country to celebrate with his Liberian counterpart, President George Manneh Weah in the observing of Liberia’s 175 Independence Day, he arrived on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Roberts International Airport.
The Guinea Bissau President and his entourage landed at Roberts International Airport around 12 noon local time and were received by President Weah along with other Liberian government officials.
President Sissoco is one of several leaders from the subregion expected in Liberia to honor the National Day President Embalo the current president of ECOWAS was elected at the recently concluded Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS held in Accra Ghana.
According to report, President Weah was instrumental in electing the President of Guinea Bissau who succeeded the President of Ghana Mr Nana Akufour Addo Before Tuesday s national event the two leaders are expected to hold a closed door t te t te focusing on regional issues as well as bilateral ties between Liberia and Guinea Bissau
