As Liberia Celebrates 175 Independence Day Today, U.S. Based Liberian Cleric Pray For Home Country

A U.S. based Liberian Pastor, Rev. Suah Deddeh has released a prayer points for his home country, Liberia as the country celebrates it’s 175 years of independence.
Below is the prayers entitled “A prayer for Liberia at 175 Years Old”
Our dear nation turns 175 years old. A mighty long way we have come, journeying through toils and snares, thick and thin, through the valleys and troubled waters, and through hard and rocky places. We wholeheartedly thank Almighty God for His Providance, and pray for our country’s blessed and prosperous destiny.
We pray,
Heavenly Father, we thank You. We confess our sinfulness as a nation-state, and seek Your mercy and grace. We used to revere Your Holy Name as a nation, but we have wandered away from You. Forgive us. Help us, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, to humble themselves, and pray and seek Your Face, and turn from our wicked ways, so that You will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land. (2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:14‬). Help our leaders and all those in authority to become better people spiritually, mentally, and physically so that they may serve the nation effectively. (1 Timothy‬ ‭2:1-2‬)
LORD God, let Your will be done in Liberia. Not ours (Matthew 6:10). Let Your plans stand for Liberia. Not ours (Psalms 33:11-12). Let us love one another, bear one another’s burdens, and be our brothers’ keeper (Genesis 4:9, Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 13:1). Let peace prevail in Liberia (Isaiah 2:4). Let Liberia prosper (Deuteronomy 8:18). May You, O God, be our strong tower (Proverbs‬ ‭18:10‬).
This is our heartfelt prayer and supplication. It is in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that we pray, with thanksgiving. Amen!
