Green Media Campaigners Established

A new environmental advocacy group, Green Media Campaigners (GMC) which seeks to promote Environmental Action for Green Environment has been established and launched in Liberia.

Mr. Steve Doito, a veteran Liberian Journalist and Lead Campaigner said GMC has emerged to create environmental awareness, social justice and environmental responsibility.

The GMC, Doito indicated, is helping corporate interests green their bottom lines and give back to environmental causes.

“When companies make positive changes that better the environment, Green Media Campaigners will extol them, but never scared to dish out harsh critique,” Lead Campaigner Doito indicated.

On the Green Media Campaigners’ vision, he maintained that the entity intends to also galvanize millions of people across the globe to live sustainable lifestyle and work tirelessly to achieve its mandate in Liberia.

Under its advocacy, Mr. Doito explained, the group shall strive to respect the rights of indigenous people, protect conversion of natural forest and habitat as well.

At the same time, Mr. Doito disclosed, the organization will protect the cultivation of genetically modified trees (GMoS), and the use of highly hazardous pesticide and Co2 emission in the country.

The Lead Campaigner is of the belief that concerted action from ordinary people is the best way to uphold “Environmental Action for Green Environment.”
