Civil Law Court ‘B’ Lifts Ban On PUL Election, AS EC Announces November 16 For New Date
The Civil Law Court ‘ B’ at the Temple of Justice on Capitol Hill in Monrovia has lifted the preliminary injunction imposed on the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) followed a complaint filed by some journalists that voters’ role was being tempered with.
During the hearing, lawyer representing the PUL, Bobby Livingstone prayed the Court to lifte the injunction imposed on the PUL’s election, noting that those who are opting for the injunction to remain in full has no bases for their action.
the Presiding Judge of the Court Roland Dahn has meanwhile granted the request of the Press Union of Liberia lawyer, ordering that the injunction imposed be lifted.
In a related development, the Chairman of the Election Committee, Jarlawah Tonpon has disclosed that the new date for the election will now be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
