CDC Council Of Patriots Threaten Boakai’s Inauguration, Call On All CIDeans To Abandon All Activities
The youthful head of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Council of Patriots, Ben Togba is calling on members of the ruling CDC to abandon all activities leading to the inauguration of Liberia’s President-elect, Joseph Nyumah scheduled for January 22, 2024 at the Capitol Building on Capitol Hill.
Addressing a news conference in Monrovia Tuesday, January 16, 2024, Togba in his insightful statement urged all partisans of the CDD to boycott the inauguration of the newly election of Liberia’s 26th President, stressing, “We will protest on that day to disrupt all activities that will lead to the inauguration of Mr. Boakai”, Togba speaking further noted.
With latest disclosure by the CDC executive, some Liberians who spoke to the GNN condemned the pending action of the CDC Council of Patriots, and further urged the National Security Agency to take serious note of the statement which they said warrant insecurity for the Liberian people and even those foreign nationals who are expected to witness this historic occasion.
Recently the Standard Bearer of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), and Liberia’s outgoing President, George Weah called on CDCean not to organize or participate in form of protest, and rather encouraged partisans of the CDC to remain at home and peacefully observe the transitional process.
In a related development, the outgoing President speaking recently at his Forky Kloh Jlaleh Family Fellowship Church disclosed that he will not participate in any future presidential elections.
