Following Liberian Government stance to issue arrest warrant for the former Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), Mr. Tolbert Nyenswah early this week amid his unceremonious departure from the country, Montserrado County Attorney Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin says the Liberia Immigration Services (LIS) will have to answer to questions of his departure from the Country.
Speaking on a local radio station in Monrovia, Cllr. Martins said he is not aware of Mr. Nyenswah leaving the country amid his indictment by the Liberian government for multiple charges including the misapplication of funds entrusted in his care during the Ebola crisis.
The Montserrado County Attorney insisted that if the information is true that Mr. Nyenswah let the country, authorities of the Liberia Immigration Services will be questioned to explain as how he left the country.
Last week, NPHIL Director General submitted his letter of resignation to President George Weah with subsequently accepted Mr. Nyenswah’s resignation lauding his for his professional services over the years including his hard work the outbreak of the Ebola virus which away the lives of thousands of Liberians.
In accepting Mr. Nyenswah’s letter of resignation, President Weah expressed thanks and appreciation
for the time he served the people and Government of Liberia. He wished him well in his new endeavors.
