As Gov’t Reportedly Brings In $64 Million via Kenya Airways, Many Query The Source Of The Money
Latest information gathered by the GNN has revealed that the money brought in via Kenya Airways at 2pm yesterday, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 to the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) is said to be in the amount Sixty-Four Million United States Dollars.
According to report, the disclosure of the amount contained in theses boxes was made known by the Minister of Information, Lenn Eugene Nage when spoke to a local radio station in Monrovia. With this information, many Liberians who spoke to the GNN in the Liberian capital, Monrovia, say they are concerned and wondering over as to the source of the money in question.
Yesterday it was reported on this outlet that several boxes allegedly contained money were brought into the country via the Roberts International Airport (RIA) and was deposited at the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), and was not cleared as to the source of the money and for what purpose it was brought into the country.
Barely 72 hours after it was announced by Senator Albert Chie, Pro-tempore of the Liberian Senate that public servants will not get pay until February 2020, due to financial crisis which he said has engulfed the country, but instead boxes of money have arrived in the country, perhaps with the intent for the government to rapidly settle its financial obligations with the civil servants.
Thousands of civil servants who were reportedly hit by this ‘Heartbreaking’ news announced by the Senate Pro-tempore by, Grand Kru County Senator, Albert Chie became disgruntled, and further resolved to form a part of the December 30th campaign, but with this latest technique reportedly being applied for bringing in money perhaps to financially settle government obligation with the civil servants would maybe boost its moral.
