Hundreds of Liberians are said to be willing to join the December 30th protest being organized by the Council of Patriots (CoP) calling on the CDC-led government to see reason in the reduction of the high wave of corruption crippling the Liberian economy, and to disclose the alleged missing Sixteen Billion Liberian Dollars and the Twenty-Five Million United States Dollars intending for mopping excurse.
According to information gathered by the GNN, the organizers of the protest have resolved to delete on their agenda ‘Weah Step Down’ campaign which was earlier put forward as one of the demands of the CoP, and further agreed that it will no more campaign on that name.
With this latest information, more Liberians are said to be gearing up for that day to demand what they called a total reform of the CDC-led government economic policy, and to further question the whereabouts of the missing money while majority of the citizens are drowning in abject poverty, and few are enriching themselves at the detriment of largest population.
Recently, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Liberia, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean in a communication to the Council of Patriots (CoP) warned of the organizers of their planned action demanding the ‘Weah Step Down’ protest, noting that it will not be prudence to give permit for such planned protest, and also said whoever venture in such would be charged of the crime of treason.
