Amid Constant Darkness At RIA Gov’t Assures Of $22M Intervention
Amid constant darkness at Roberts International Airport, Government of Liberia assures U.S.$ 22 million ‘swift intervention project’ to address power outage at the country’s only international Airport
At a news conference Monday, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill said President Weah cares about the situation at the RIA, and is now putting in place measures to address the problem.
Minister McGill stated as part of immediate priorities, a special cabinet team will work with the Airport authorities to make swift interventions.
He named some of the prompt interventions as the working of the air navigation system which has not been change for over twenty five years, the improvement of stable Electricity including another source of power, a solar system as well as the increase in fire system equipment among others.
The Presidential Affairs Minister put the cost of the project at around 22 to 23 million within a period of six to seven months, especially with the involvement of the legislature.
