arper, Liberia – June 25, 2025Brenda Wisner, a standout student from William V. S. Tubman University, has officially arrived in the United States to participate in the 2025 Summer Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Program on Economic Empowerment.

Wisner departed Liberia on June 19 and is now engaged in a rigorous five-week academic and leadership residency at the University of Delaware. She joins a diverse cohort of young women leaders from across the globe in a program centered on entrepreneurship, economic development, leadership training, and community engagement.

Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, President and CEO of William V.S. Tubman University, praised Brenda’s achievement as a significant milestone for both her and the university. “We are proud of Brenda for earning a place in this highly selective program,” Dr. Menjay stated. “Her participation reflects the excellence Tubman University stands for and reaffirms our mission to produce globally competitive students prepared to lead and make a difference.”

The SUSI Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and coordinated through the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia, aims to develop leadership potential, foster cross-cultural exchange, and strengthen the bonds between future global leaders and the United States.

Brenda’s selection underscores Tubman University’s growing role in promoting academic excellence and expanding global opportunities for Liberian youth, particularly young women. Her participation is expected to not only broaden her academic and professional horizons but also inspire fellow students at home to pursue international platforms for leadership and development.
