Technical Fault Halts Work At CB Dunbar Hospital In Gbarnga

The CB Dunbar Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County fell into total darkness Tuesday evening as a result of a technical fault, contrary to local media reports of fuel shortage.

Addressing a team of reporters Wednesday at his office, the new administrator of the hospital, Mr. Thomas Kpelewah, confirmed the hospital falling into darkness Tuesday, but explained that it was not because of lack of fuel as previously reported by some local radio stations in Gbarnga.

Kpelewah lamented that the hospital usually experiences electrical fault, especially during the rainy season, adding that the situation has always occurred because of “poor wiring” which causes the breaker to trip every time the ground is soaked by rainfall.

The hospital official further disclosed that he has engaged some county officials, including Bong County District 3 lawmaker Josiah Marvin Cole and the County Superintendent Esther Walker to render the health facility some assistance, followed by formal communication to the health ministry to address the situation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kpelewah has assured that with the slight increase in the hospital’s budget, more progress will be made in improving the facility.
