Following the holding of a primary of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) recently in Pleebo, Maryland County which made James P. Biney to becoming the lone winner to contest for the Senatorial seat in December, 2020, a member of the Coalition has expressed his reservation.
Making his reservation known at a news conference recently, the country’s current Senator of Maryland County, Dan Morias said the primaries conducted was perhaps a primary for the Congress of Democratic Charge (CDC) and not for the National Patriotic Party (NPP).
He noted that the National Patriotic Party (NPP) has conducted its own primary in Maryland County that brought him on board to contest the upcoming midterm Senatorial elections on the NPP ticket, he further elaborated that the recently Primary conducted in the county is Personal, and at the time called on National Elections Commissioner to explain article 7 (g) 3 (x) of the Collation Documents that brought the three Political Parties together.
He also said the allegation leveled against him that he supported Joseph N. Boakal during the 2017 elections is true, stating, “I am a citizen of Liberia and it is my constitutional right to freely associate, although I was not in the front page campaigning for Boakal like other Senators did, and currently they are on the Coalition ticket contesting for the upcoming midterm Senatorial elections.
Senator Morias said he has nothing against President George Weah, adding, President Weah is my friend and I am asking all my supporters to always be kind to the President.
