Sando Fires Back at Senator Duncan, Defends President Boakai

MONROVIA, Aug. 28 — Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel O. Sando, has strongly criticized Sinoe County Senator Crayton Duncan, calling his recent comments about President Joseph N. Boakai’s age and performance politically motivated and baseless.

Speaking at a Ministry of Information press briefing in Monrovia on Thursday, August 28, 2025, Deputy Minister Sando stated that the senator’s remarks not only lack substance but also expose his own “inconsistency and poor record in public service.” Sando highlighted what he called the senator’s hypocrisy, noting that Duncan currently travels on a newly paved road to his home county—a project he credited to the current administration.

“How can Senator Duncan say this government has failed when President Boakai has delivered more for Sinoe County in less than two years than Duncan has done since his election?” Sando questioned. He pointed out that under President Boakai’s leadership, roads leading to the southeast, particularly Sinoe, are now accessible even during the rainy season.

Sando argued that if the senator fails to recognize this as a significant milestone, he is “clueless of what developments and prospects mean in the country’s current day realities,” adding that this is something Duncan has failed to achieve for his constituents since becoming a lawmaker.

“Senator Duncan has no moral authority to lecture anyone on governance. If he had been properly raised with respect and discipline, he would not reduce national leadership to childish insults against the President of the Republic,” Sando asserted.

The deputy minister also claimed that Senator Duncan has failed to bring tangible development to Sinoe County despite the privileges he enjoys as a representative of its people.

“President Boakai is working. The results are there for all to see. No amount of falsehood or political mischief will derail this administration’s agenda for progress,” Sando concluded.
