Russian-US dialogue on arms control significant for both countries, says senior lawmaker

MOSCOW, June 28. /TASS/. An agreement reached by Russian and US presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, to continue discussions on arms control was the most significant result of their bilateral meeting on Friday as this dialogue is important for both countries, Chairman of the State Duma’s Committee for International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, said.

The meeting between Putin and Trump was held on the sidelines of the G20 summit on Friday in Japan’s Osaka and lasted for 80 minutes. Upon the event’s commencement, the two leaders noted that the negotiations could serve as a good reason for continuing dialogue on numerous issues that have accumulated.
