(ABC News) – President Donald Trump’s longtime political adviser and confidante Roger Stone Tuesday Morning is expected to plead not guilty in a federal courthouse in Washington, where the self-described “dirty trickster” will be arraigned on a seven-count indictment brought by special counsel Robert Mueller.

“I will plead not guilty to these charges,” Stone said Friday after an initial court appearance in Florida. “I will defeat them in court.”

Stone’s predawn arrest late last week marked a turning point in the special counsel’s ongoing investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 election. In his 24-page indictment of Stone, which laid out charges of witness tampering, obstruction of justice and lying to Congress, Mueller painted the clearest picture yet of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
