Montserrado County District #9 Representative, Munah Pelham- Youngblood, has written the Plenary of the House of Representatives craving its indulgence to probe some lawmakers whom, she claimed, are in the habit of bringing the body to public disrepute through their utterances.
In her communication to the House on Thursday, Youngblood observed that the lawmakers are in the constant habit of going to the media and publicly accusing the leadership of the 54th House of Representatives of involvement in malpractices.
Youngblood said the lawmakers claimed that they are in possession of documents which show that some colleagues, with the consent of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, have over the months received and disposed of personally huge quantity of duty free gasoline intended for that body.
Representative Youngblood named lawmakers Adolph Lawrence and Yekeh Kolubah as well as Sinoe County District #2 lawmaker Jay Nagbe Sloh as the lawmakers who are found in such habit.
On January 16, while addressing reporters at the Capitol Building in Monrovia, Youngblood informed the body that Representative Kolubah alleged that the House’s Chair on Rules, Order and Administration, Representative Mariamu Fofana, received some items on behalf of the House of Representatives and that she diverted them to her private use, adding, that he displayed series of documents aimed at proving his allegations.
Among part of complaints as contained in her communication, the Montserrado County lawmaker noted that Representative Kolubah is also on record for referring to the Speaker as a foreigner on a local radio station.
Meanwhile, the House has instructed its Committee on Rules, Order and Administration to look into complaints filed by the Montserrado lawmaker Youngblood and report to the body in one week.
