President Weah Return Home After Spending 48 Days Abroad

Liberian Leader, President George Manneh Weah

The Liberian leader, President George Manneh Weah and his entourage returned home today, December 19, 2022 after spending 48 days abroad which led to a protest rally by the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) on his long stay out of the country and hardship being encountered by citizens.

Despite of critics’ condemnations of his long stay out of the country, the Liberian leader said his stay out of the country from November 1, 2022 which took him to Morocco, Egypt, and France, before traveling to watch his son play in the US soccer team at the World Cup in Qatar, and then attending the US-Africa Business Summit in Washington is in the interest of the country and its people.

However, some Liberians who spoke to the GNN hoped that the Liberian leader will publicly justify his long stay out of the country to tell Liberians what should be expected from his 48 days out of Liberia.
