Police To Summon Bridge Int’l Country Director, two others For Alleged ‘Criminal Offense’ ?
Following series of allegations leveled against the Country Director of Bridge Int’l, Griffin Asigo, a Kenyan national, the Human Resource Manager, Alimata Johnson and the IT Manager Awesome Konneh have reportedly been summoned by the Liberia National Police Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in connection with report that linked to be invited with an alleged criminal offense against an employee.
According to information, the police request is based on complaint filed against them for their alleged involvement in hacking into an email account belonging to one of their employees, inserted information, implicated the staff before arbitrarily dismissing.
According to information also gathered said, the staff has since written the Inspector General of Police, Patrick Sudue to fully investigate the hacking and bring those involved to book.
Sources within LNP have confirmed that the three have already been invited and investigation commences this week. Sources revealed that if the action mentioned by the complaint is true, it will be considered as a hard core criminal trespass which will be thoroughly looked into by the police.
Bridge Country Director since taking over remains a controversial figure that on several occasions was invited by the Liberian Legislature but refused to attend until a contempt charge was filed for Education Minister Prof. D. Ansu Sonii.
He at the same time has a series of cases at the Ministry of Labor which the company is yet to settle employees or attend to some of the hearings, in flagrant disregard to government functionaries.
The latest issue of being summoned by the LNP comes at a time when four staff, three Liberians and one Kenyan since wrote the owner of the company, Shannon May asking her to investigate Mr. Asigo over sexual romance before hiring which is rocking the company’s integrity. Efforts by media practitioners to ascertain from the global team on these allegations have since never been responded to.
His latest hire of a nurse, his reported girlfriend as Director of Schools who brings zero knowledge in education has created fury amongst employees.
A recent letter orchestrated by him to have employees signed to enhance his stay in the country was uprightly rejected with continuous call for investigation into the office romance and bad labor issues.
Former Education Minister George Werner, a key lobbyist and reported executive of the company, has been vigorously lobbying for the company after he appeared on OK FM show promoting the brand.
He maintains the program is good for Liberian kids but failed to speak to some of the sticky issues that have engulfed the company since.
It is reported that the former Education boss will be heavily funded by the company in his bid for the Grand Kru senatorial slot this December election.
In a related development, some aggrieved employees (Teachers) of Bridge International are reportedly preparing to stage a mass meeting in order to express their frustration over the manner in which Bridge is forging.
However, efforts to contact the management of Bridge to verify this information contained failed, as our staff was told that the Country Director who is the only source of information is currently out of Liberia.
