Police Tint Removal On Cars Seems Selective, As Others Go Untouched

The Liberia National Police have begun removing tint on cars plying the streets of Monrovia and its environs for what is believed to be security reasons, a situation that has dragged the free flow of traffic that led too many to reach their various places of work or school.
This move by the LNP has been welcomed by many commuters, describing it has good for the security protection for all Liberians and foreign residents who lives have been put at risk by individuals who have criminal attempt via the usage of tinted windshields on their respective vehicles.
However, our staff whose vehicle tint was removed by the police while on his way to work noticed that many others were given preference that led them for their respective vehiclesβ tint not to be removed due to their connection to the power that be, or either as government officials.
According to our staff, this bias on the part of the police on duty for allowing other tinted vehicles to pass through their respective assignment without being thoroughly being checked and their vehicles tint remove has signaled the attitude of the police of partiality on its part.
Over the past years, it was publicly reported that many innocent people including children were allegedly kidnapped by some criminals who operating under the cover of by using tint on their windshields to avoid been noticed by peaceful citizens for their arrest.
Some Liberians who spoke to the GNN applaud the authority of the Liberia National Police (LNP) for this move to rid Monrovia out of tinted cars with windshields, but also urged the police do their job without been partial or selective in performing their nationalistic duties as they protect lives and properties.
