Over Fifty Thousand Students May Not Write 2024 Exams If Liberia Fails To Settle US$5.5M Debt

The head of Liberia’s office of the West African Examination Council Dale Gbotoe says the government of Liberia owes WAEC Headquarters a sum of US$5.5-million in dues.

He clarified that government does not owed the local office a dime as speculated but that it owes WAEC headquarters based in Nigeria.

Rumors have been circulating that Liberia faces expulsion from the West African Examination Council for her failure to pay fees for the last five years to the West African Examination Council in Liberia.

But Mr. Gbotoe told an OK FM interview Wednesday that the amount in question is an accumulation of debt the Liberian government has incurred for not paying its dues to the WAEC Headquarters for at least seven years.
