John Mahama, former Ghanaian President and presidential flagbearer of the opposition NDC in the December election has slammed what he called ‘chaos and disorder,’ in the ongoing national voter registration exercise.
He said he had to cut short his campaign tour because of ‘anomalies and fatal flaws’ detected by his party in the registration process which could undermine the credibility of the planned election.
The former president accused the Electoral Commission of incompetence and called on the international community to take an interest in the electoral process in Ghana.
Mahama was vice president to President Attah Mills, who died in office in 2012. He won subsequent election the same year for a single mandate but was defeated by current President Nana Akufo-Addo, in his re-election bid in 2016.
