Ninth Judicial Circuit Court Sentences Man To 50 Years For Murder

GBARNGA – The 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarnga, Bong County, has sentenced to 50 years imprisonment, Amos Morlon, for raping and murdering his fiancée Satta Bainda in 2018.

The court in its final judgment on Wednesday, October 9, imposed the sentence on Morlon after he pleaded guilty in open court to committing the crimes he was charged with.

The Grand Jury of Bong County on August 29, 2019, indicted defendant Amos Morlon for allegedly committing the crimes of “murder and rape.”..

The two-count indictment alleged that on September 15, 2018, the defendant raped and murdered one Sata Bainda, his girlfriend, in Gbartala Town in Bong County.

The indictment alleged that the defendant raped and later killed the Sata because he suspected her of having a relationship with another man.

The indictment alleged that after having sex with the deceased, she left the defendant’s house but later, on the night of September 15, 2018, the defendant saw the late Sata Bainda with one Clarence Davis, an individual he had suspected Sata of having a relationship with.

When the defendant confronted the deceased about her relationship with Davis, she insulted him, stirring angry within him and led the convict to beat her until she dropped dead.

The indictment further alleged that after the deceased dropped and was no longer moving, the defendant cut a piece of rope, tied it around the deceased neck, and dragged her into the football field.
