Nigerian 37, Arrested For Human Trafficking, Two Other Liberians Linked

A Nigerian, 37, identified as Olurantoda Lisa was over the weekend arrested by officers of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) for human trafficking, along with a Liberian woman also identified as Grace Gray.

According to the spokesperson of the LIS, Abraham Dorley, the man was arrested by officers of the LIS following preliminary investigation that an 11-year old girl, Joana Sackie who he was taken alone with him to Nigeria was being trafficked.

Speaking to the GNN via mobile phone this morning, September 9, 2019, Mr. Dorley said during investigation it was observed that the 11-year old girl’s named was changed from Joana Sackie to Elizabeth Lasi.

Mr. Dorley also disclosed that one Topo Thompson who is alleged to have been in human trafficking business since 2008 going from villages to villages of Liberia collecting children under the canopy of bringing them to Monrovia to further their education.

Thompson, according to report has over the years trafficked dozens of children, he is also being detained by the LIS awaiting further trial along with the Nigerian national and Madam Grace Gray a Liberian who during the investigation said the 11-year old girl in question was given to the Nigerian to be sent to her daughter in Nigeria.

Mr. Dorley speaking further, also revealed that all the traveling document in the possession of Mr. Lisa, the Nigerian national was believed to be falsified, alleging that they were obtained from the Nigerian embassy, even though said he has not visited the embassy for a very long time.
