New Chinese Envoy Assures Deeper Ties With Liberia
(LINA) – Chinese Ambassador Fu Jijun has extolled Sino-Liberia diplomatic relations, saying that “China has made and will make more contributions to the development of Liberia.”
He said the bond between the two nations “has won wholehearted support of our two peoples and the international community.”
The Chinese envoy said the China-Liberia cooperation has been maintaining a good momentum in recent years, noting that “concrete projects have been set up and will be completed soon in the fields of road, office building, health care, education, sports, information, agriculture and airport.”
Speaking at a reception to welcome him on his new assignment at the Chinese Embassy near Monrovia, Ambassador Fu said the bilateral cooperation between Liberia and China has a great potential and broad prospect in a wide range of sectors.
Fu noted that strengthening China-Liberia relations is not only in the common interests of both countries, but also conducive to the development and prosperity of Africa.
As good partners, Fu said, China is ready to work with African countries, including Liberia, to make joint efforts to enhance mutual understanding, promote construction of the “Belt and Road”, build a new type of international relations of win-win cooperation, and a community of shared future for mankind.
China, he said, is also willing to make greater contributions to world peace, stability and development.
Fu emphasized that “the China-Liberia friendship are inseparable from your great efforts and contributions,” adding that “the future of China-Liberia cooperation, will still rely on your valuable support and assistance.”
Fu assured that as China’s new ambassador to Liberia, he would like to make every effort to deepen the collaboration between the two nations and enhance the friendship between its peoples.
He believes that with the kind help of Liberia, China and Liberia can write a new chapter of friendly relations and cooperation and as well bring more benefits to the peoples of the two countries.
