The Naymote Partners for Democratic Development is calling on Liberians to constitutionally pressurize their respective lawmakers in meeting those promises they made prior to their election to the National Legislature.
In a statement issued today, Naymote asked series of important questions including the importance of an open legislative process and drug law reform, and the need for electoral reform and women political participation, stressing that if the Liberian people care, than let them pressure members of the Liberian Legislature through phone calls, text messages and letters reminding them of our need to have access to their voting records and the availability of an active website to monitor their activities.
“Call or text your senator and representative to support the amendment of the drug law to include punishment for drug traffickers and rehabilitation for abusers of drugs. As a voter, kindly call your senator and representative to support electoral reform to improve the gender balance in politics and enforce the 30% gender quota in the electoral reform bills submitted by the National Elections Commission. We shall continue this as concerns arise”, Naymote statement added.
