Mysterious Death of Glassco Town Man Sparks Outrage and Fear

September 8, 2025 | Glassco Town, Zarflahn District:  The tight-knit community of Glassco Town is in mourning and turmoil following the disturbing discovery of 66-year-old Henry Zeegar Sr., whose lifeless body was pulled from the Draw River on Saturday, days after he went missing.

Zeegar, a longtime resident of the town, was last seen on the afternoon of Thursday, September 4, after returning from his farm located across the river. According to Zarflahn District Commissioner Jerry Cole, Zeegar had informed a relative that he was heading to the graveyard after returning a cooking pot from the farm. He handed over his mobile phone before leaving and never returned, prompting immediate concern from his loved ones.

A community-wide search ensued. But hopes were dashed on Saturday afternoon, when residents found his naked body in the Draw River. His clothing and slippers were nowhere to be seen.

Commissioner Cole described the discovery as “gruesome,” and a 15-man jury was quickly convened to examine the circumstances surrounding the death. The jury’s report revealed severe physical trauma, including a broken neck, swollen eyes, and a damaged nose—injuries that strongly point to foul play.

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has since launched an active investigation, pledging to uncover the truth behind Zeegar’s mysterious and violent death.

Following the examination, Zeegar’s body was released to his family and has since been buried. But the tragedy has left Glassco Town shaken.

“This is something our community cannot overlook,” said one concerned resident. “We are living in fear, and we need justice for our brother.”

As residents grapple with grief and anxiety, they are calling on authorities for transparency, swift action, and accountability.

Zeegar’s death now stands as one of the most chilling cases in recent memory for Zarflahn District—raising urgent questions about public safety and the threat of violence in what was once a peaceful town.
