Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee Accused Of Funding The July 26 Violence

As public outcry of the July 26 violence that led several members of the University of Liberia based Student Unification Party (SUP) brutalized by the CDC-COP protesters, the Movement for Economic Empowerment has accused the Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee of funding July 26 Counter-Protest.

In a press released in Monrovia by MOVEE, said the Monrovia City Mayor is noted always for supporting violence, especially having a history traced to participating in Liberia’s 14 years of civil war.

With the organization is calling the Ministry of Justice to take seize of the matter by ensuring all those involvedΒ  into the bloody clash with the students face the full weight of the law, including Mayor Koijee who allegedly sponsored the attack against the student peaceful gathering on July 26.

MOVEE also expressed disdain in the acts of violence that ensued on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 against protesting students of the Student Unification Party, perpetrated by CDC-Council of Patriots.

But according to the OK FM Liberia, effort to contact the Monrovia City Mayor proved unsuccessful as he is said to have remained tight lipped
