Local Community Radio Station In Maryland County Gutter With Fire

A local community radio station in Harper City, Maryland County, Radio Harper 91.9 FM guttered with fire on Liberia’s Armed Forces Day, February 11, 2021.
According GNN Correspondent quoting sources in Maryland County, the station technician reportedly reconnected the station following its disconnection by the Liberia Electricity Cooperation (L.E.C), unfortunately the station got ablaze.
Radio Harper 91.9 FM is one of the oldest radio stations in the county, as hundreds of residents and employees were saddened over the situation.
The management and staffers of the station are seeking for support from humanitarian organizations, other officials of the Liberian Government.
According to GNN correspondent, E. Varney Kemah Maryland County who also is a staffer at the station, said the station is providing all necessary information to the community but no support.
“I am on behalf of the management and staffers of Radio Harper asking the community to stand with the Management and staffers of Radio Harper to bring the community radio back on air, Varney Kamah regrettably explained.
Nevertheless, investigation is still on going as to what led to the accident.
