The World Food Programme (WFP) in collaboration with Partners and the Government of Liberia has commenced a week-long workshop on Seasonal Livelihoods Programming (SLP) in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The Seasonal Livelihood Programming (SLP) is a step (stage) process designed for longer-term programme developed and aligned to national and local priorities. It places people and partners at the center of planning, consultations, and consensus-building. SLP programming rightly positions partners to best complement one another to strengthen resilience outcomes.
The workshop is also meant to provide all stakeholders (farmers, cooperating/implementing partners, government, local communities) the knowledge to enhance planning and designing of multi-sector, multi-year resilience building activities through coordination and partnership at the sub national level focusing on Bong County as a case study.
The SLP workshop is targeting 60 participants largely drawn from a pool of local civil society and community based livelihood groups but also include relevant representatives from national and international agencies who invest in partnerships supporting multi-sector development initiatives.
According to our correspondent, the objectives of the weeklong Seasonal Livelihoods Programming (SLP) workshop is to identify programme area of interventions and right partners, develop action plan and self sustaining strategy for clare coordination harmonized programming.
The workshop wish commence on Monday December 17, 2018 in Gbarnga, Bong County is expected to end this Friday December 21, 2018 has brought together WPF workers, Non Governmental Organizations, Civil Society groups, Farmers and including Officials of government
