LIBERIA: Speaker Chambers Clock 59th
This week the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers turned 59-years-old, the day was observed with quietude. He disclosed that his 2020 Birthday has coincided with the State bewailing sick and fallen Officials. He says the Government of Liberia, specifically the House of Representatives of the 54th Legislature, in recent times, has been mourning the deaths of two of its colleagues and a senior staff of the Legislature.
According to Speaker Chambers, he feels sadden by recent development about the falling to serious ailment of the Public Works Minister, Hon. Mabutu Vlah Nyenpan, and the present medical condition of Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor who is attending to treatment abroad.
In recent times, the House of Representatives has lost two of its members to ailment. Rep. Munah E. Pelham of District # 9, Montserrado County, and Rep. Jay. Nagbeh Sloh of District # 2 Sinoe County, lost their respective battles for survival when they succumbed to death. The remains of the two Lawmakers have been laid to rest and the House of Representatives writes the National Elections Commission to declare vacancies in line with the dictates of law.
The Speaker says as a Christian he remains thankful and grateful to God Almighty for nearing three scores. He observed his birthday with quietude and was present in his office at the Capitol Building in Monrovia and conducted his fiduciary and constitutional responsibilities as Speaker of the 54th Legislature of the Republic of Liberia.
While in his Office on yesterday, September 9, He received latitudes of birthday congratulatory messages from several government officials, Colleague Lawmakers, Staffers at the Capitol Building, the Fourth Estate, and scores of private Liberian citizens and foreigners.
