Residents of Gov’t Camp in Sinoe County Crave For Better School Building

A deplorable local school in Sinoe County

Residents of a local gold camp,  Government Camp, one of the most populated areas in Sinoe County are appealing to the Liberian Government to quickly intervene in the reconstruction of a local elementary and junior high school which is seriously in a deplorable condition.

Speaking tom the GNN, Mose Sneh, an prominent businessman in the area said, for the past years the camp has overwhelmingly contributed to the growth of the Liberian economy by increasing government’s revenue through taxation from miners operating in the area.

Mr. Sneh lamented that millions of dollars have been generated and placed into the Liberian Government revenue, but wondered why the government cannot come to the rescue of the residents by providing modern educational institution for the youths of the area who are yearning for improved education for their future.

Speaking also to the GNN, Mr. Swenfueh Wlati who retired as Head Principal of the school the only school in the area noted that since his retirement he is yet to receive the new Principal to work together in moving the school forward.

He also intoned that due to the deplorable condition of the school building, parents are taking their children out from the school, called on local government, Non-governmental Organizations and International Non-Governmental Organizations to come to the rescue of the people of the Camp for a better learning facility for the future leaders of the area.
