ROBERTSPORT CITY, – Police in Grand Cape Mount County are investigating four persons in connection with the gruesome murder of a 45-year-old man.
Varney Gbelleh, who is originally from Bomi County, recently returned to Daniel Town, Garwula District where he lived for the past two years.
On February 16, the lifeless body of Varney Gbelleh, a daily hire in Daniel Town, was discovered in an old farm kitchen along the Kinjor highway where he had gone to carry on his daily work.
Upon the discovery of the late Gbelleh’s body, a 15-man coronary jury was set up to establish whether there was foul play in his death.
The jurors’ investigation established that there was foul play in the death of the late Gbelleh.
The jurors’ decision was based on the fact that the deceased was discovered with several parts of his body extracted.
According to the jurors, the victim’s ear, tongue, right foot heel and the skin of his skull were extracted.
The report from the jury prompted the police in Garwula District to invite Folley Kamara, John Bishop Pratt, Bob Marley and Varney Zoedua for investigation.
According to the police report, Zodua was arrested because he was the one who hired the late Gbelleh to clear his farm, while Kamara was the host of the late Varney and also it was he who found the body of the victim.
The police report said Pratt and a man identified as Bob Marley were arrested because it was in their old kitchen that the victim’s body was found.
The four persons are currently in detention at the Sinje Police detail in Garwula District undergoing police interrogation.
The alleged murder of Gbelleh has brought to three the number of murders or missing person cases in Grand Cape Mount County within one month.
Earlier in January, a two year-old boy reportedly went missing in Zogbojah Town, Tewor District, and up to present his whereabouts are unknown.
Then in February, a 70 year-old lady also went missing in Wayjue Town, Gola Konneh District, and since then her whereabouts, like the two year- old, are still to be known.
These series of disappearances and murders have instilled fear in the people of Grand Cape Mount County.
