LIBERIA: NRM Urges Senator Prince Johnson To Quite Politics, Respect U.S. Sanctions
A local political movement, the Nimba Renewal Movement (NRM) has been launched in Liberia, and further named a prominent son of the county, James Hallowager as its lone senatorial candidate to replace Senator Prince Y. Johnson in the upcoming general and presidential elections scheduled in October.
A statement signed by the organizer of NRM, E. Fredrick Baye, has publicly urged the Nimba County Senator Prince Y. Johnson to allow the freedom of the people of the county to prevail by allowing them to usher in a new face in the upcoming elections, stressing that the choice of the people of the county and the NRM is a man who is passionate about the wellbeing of his people.
The statement further called on Senator Johnson not to use his role to hold the people of the county hostage under the canopy “Redemption of Nimba”, and not to not defy the good gesture of the people of Nimba County, as well as the international community, particularly the United States Government imposed sanctions.
Meanwhile, the statement has informed the people of the county, that their senatorial hopeful is shortly expected to arrive in Liberia from the United States to overwhelmingly receive a petition from the people of the country through the NRM, and also called on the people of the county to refrain from expressing support to the third term bid of Senator Prince Johnson.
