LIBERIA: Maryland County Commercial City, Pleeb Turns Blue As James Baney Wins CDC Primary

As ruling and opposition political parties gearing up for the pending midterm senatorial election scheduled for December 8, 2020, counties are overwhelmed as series of primaries are been taken place at various locations around the country.

Today, July 30, 2020, hundreds of partisans and well-wishers of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) swamped the commercial City of Pleebo, Maryland County in their bid to put forward their candidate through the conduct of primaries for the upcoming date for the entire selection.

The process which was peaceful took place at the Pleebo City Hall, and brought together hundreds of partisans of the CDC, a member of the former ruling National Patriotic Party (NPP), James P. Baney was declared winner at the end of the day.

Addressing reporter following his victory, Biney expressed thanks and appreciation to his partisans for electing him during the daylong competition, bragging that during the upcoming midterm senatorial election there won’t be any competitor in the race, and further assured to make the difference upon his election at the Liberian Senate when elected.

The former Harper District Representative  also maintained that if elected, he will  work with  the Liberian Government peacefully for the continuation of the many projects being undertaken by the central government, including roads connectivity, education, health, and agriculture which will be his key focus during the tenure at the Liberian Senate.

For his part, the local chairman of  the Coalition for Democratic Change ( CDC),  Mr. Otis Blay also lauded the peaceful conduct of the process, and also expressed thanks and appreciation to partisans of the ruling party for being peaceful during the process, stressing,  “As long I remain chairman of CDC I will continue to work with all CDCIANS in and out of Maryland County for the betterment of our Country,”  Mr. Blade also praised Andrew Peters and his team for the successful conduct of the process.

Meanwhile, LPDP Chairman, and also Superintendent of Maryland County,  George A.Prowd said his support to Biney will increase on a daily basis, adding,  “Biney, we will stand by you and give you all the necessary support until our dream becomes a reality,” he also used the occasion to call on Marylanders to join the process and make Hon. James P. Biney the next Senator of the County.
