The Ministry of Justice and partners have concluded a two day review of the National Human Rights Action Plan.
The two days review process in Gbarnga took place at Passion Hotel in Gbarnga.
According to the Director of Human Rights Protection at the Ministry of Justice, the two days draft National Human Right Action Plan review process was intended to put in place new plan as the last five years plan is expiring this year.
Kutaka Togbah explained that the Human Rights Action Plan addresses the issues of political and civil rights and also covering issues related to persons with disabilities.
Mr. Togbah explained that the document is extremely inclusive as it looks at different human rights issues.
The Ministry of Justice Division of Human Rights Protection Director added that Liberia has done well in fulfilling its international human rights obligation.
Mr. Togbah said with the expiration of the first NHRAP, the current one also stresses the need for political support to the human rights sector adding that government has also supported the process by making mention of the document in most of its reports.
The five years National Human Rights Action Plan (NHRAP) review process saw the participation of several government institutions including the Independent National Human Rights Commission, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Justice and civil society actors.
