LIBERIA: In Maryland County UNIDO To Construct Vocational Training Center

As the Liberian Government preparing to achieve its National Vision “Liberia Rise 2030″,  and striving for quality education, good healthcare, agriculture and food production etc, the  United Nation Industrial Organization (UNIDO) is  expected to construct a Technical Training and Vocational Center in Harper City, Maryland County.

In an interview with T. Mark Korpu, the Communication and Social media expert of the United Nation Industrial Organization (UNIDO) Monday, March 22, 2021 disclosed during the Youth Rising Vocational Center and High School Debate Competition held in Harper.

“I am indeed delighted to kindly inform you that a Vocational Center and Training Institution that will create employment opportunities for Young Liberians will be built here in Harper City, Maryland County”.

Korpu said the project which will be sponsored by European Union have started 2018, in other parts of the country.

“The process of the Vocational Center and Training Institution already started in other counties since 2018, and it’s funded by European Union, the Maryland County construction activities will commence shortly”.

According to him UNIDO is partnering with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Liberia.

“UNIDO is in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports aimed at creating job opportunities and building the capacity of Liberians through Vocational and Technical Institutions across the country. I want to use this opportunity to encourage every young Liberians to take advantage of the Vocational Center and Training Institutions to reduce the unemployment rate in our Country”
