LIBERIA: Gender Extols First Lady For Constructing Elderly Home
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has extolled Liberia’s First Lady Ambassador Clar Marie Weah for constructing 30-bedrooms facility for the Elderly in Own Your Own Community, Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
According to a release from the Office of the First Lady, the Decontee Home of the Elderly was constructed by the First Lady through her personal initiative, Clar Hope Foundation.
Gender believes that the 30 self-contained rooms in the home will help reduce homelessness crisis some elderly citizens have to grapple with in the Port City of Buchanan and will certainly provide them much needed durable housing security.
The Ministry is particularly thrilled by the timely gesture of the First Lady given the fact that said laudable initiative aligns with Gender’s mandate which amongst many things calls for the protection and care for vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
As part of the ongoing presidential county tour, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah along with the First Lady on April 21, 2021 inspected the facility.
