The Chief Justice of the Supreme County of Liberia, His Honor Francis Korkpor on Monday, March 14, 2022 paid his last respect as head of Liberia’s highest court.

During the opening of the court, the Chief Justice disclosed that he will be retiring upon his 70th birth anniversary on September 5, this year

Chief Justice Francis Korkpor has made his final appearance as head of the country’s judiciary system.

Justice Korkpor became the second post war Chief Justice of Liberia after he succeeded Cllr. Johnnie Lewis in September 2012.

The Chief Justice retirement is in fulfillment of Article 72 (b) of the constitution of Liberia which among other things states that the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court and judges of subordinate courts of records shall be retired at the age seventy.

Justice Korkpor will cease to be the country’s Chief Justice by September 5 this year after turning seventy years old.
