LIBERIA: Amid Reported ‘Growing Human Rights Abusive’, CPP, COP To Staged Another Nationwide Mass Protest December 16
The Council of Patriotic (CoP) says it is planning another nationwide mass protest against the CDC-led government of President George Weah beginning Monday, December 16, 2020, bringing back the memories of the June 7th Save The State Protest 2019 which brought the country to a standstill in demand of the ‘Missing Sixteen Million Liberian Dollars.
Making the disclosure yesterday the Secretary General of the COP, Mr. Mulbah Yorgbor said. The upcoming December 16, 2020 protest to be a nationwide protest aimed at calling on the George Weah’s led government to take note and correct ills that eating up the Liberian society.
According to Mr. Yorgbor the objective of this latest protest by his organization is a result of the CDC-led government continues refusal to see reason in solving the growing plight of the Liberian people including massive corruption, the abuse of human rights, the failure on the part of the government to settle the plight of health workers, and to recount the whereabouts of the much talk about missing sixteen million Liberian Dollars.
He indicated this coming protest will be more massive as compare to the June 7th Save The State Protest of 2019, “This protest will be held throughout the country in order to call to book the ill-leadership of President Weah and his CDC,” Yorgbor speaking to reporters noted.
In a related development, the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) has also resolved to join the COP in its nationwide protest for the alleged failure of the National Elections Commission (NEC) to clean up the voter roll.
