GBARNGA – LINA – Montserrado County Senator Saah Joseph has disclosed the arrival into the country of 25 medical doctors from the United States of America to provide free medical services to Liberians.
The beneficiaries include citizens of District #Two in Bong County who are faced with various disease conditions, including visual impairment.
Patients with critical conditions in District #Two in Bong County, the senator said, will be transported to Monrovia for further medical attention.
Following the disclosure, Senator Saah made a donation of L$300,000 for the renovation of the Sammy Clinic in District #Two, Bong County.
Addressing a cross-section of citizens recently in Sammy Town during a friendly visit, Senator Joseph indicated that the gesture is his way of paying back to a son of Sammy Town, Mr. Joshua Bertha who, he said, supported him in his senatorial race.
Senator Joseph also made a cash donation of L$100,000 as transportation allowance for citizens who attended the gathering from across the district.
In remarks, Mr. Bertha, a senior staff in the office of Deputy Speaker Prince Moye, lauded Senator Joseph for what he described as “his timely intervention” to renovate the Sammy Clinic which, he said, is currently catering to several thousand residents in the town.
Bertha through the kind courtesy of Senator Joseph donated to Sammy Clinic five hospital beds with mattresses attached.
He also donated two bundles of zinc for the construction of a proposed radio station in Sammy Town that will help to fill the information gap in that part of the county when completed.
In response, citizens of Bong County District #Two lauded Senator Joseph and Mr. Bertha for their kind gestures, and promised to use the donations for the intended purpose.
