Knife-wielding man shot by police in Manhattan Whole Foods

(NY1.com) – Police shot a man armed with a knife inside of a Manhattan Whole Foods Saturday night.

Officers were called to the supermarket on West 125th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem.

When they arrived, they discovered an emotionally disturbed man wielding a knife.

Here is a picture of the knife. Cops ordered the man to drop it but police say he lunged at the officers.

That’s when they shot the man in the shoulder.

He was transported to Harlem hospital in stable condition

No shoppers or officers were injured during the shooting.

The suspect is expected to recover.
